FINISH CARPENTRY
Accent Walls
Walnut and oak wood paneling, floating shelves, integrated lighting. The wall that makes the room.
About this service
An accent wall is a finish-carpentry project — board layout, scribing, lighting integration. Naron builds them with mitered returns, hidden fasteners, and lighting that's wired in, not stuck on.
An accent wall is mostly visible decisions: which wood, where the lighting hides, how the boards return at the corners. Naron’s walnut wall with floating shelves and integrated lighting (in the gallery) is the project most clients reference when they want this work done — clean reveals, hidden fasteners, lighting that’s part of the wall rather than mounted to it.
This is finish carpentry, not decor. It gets done the way the rest of Naron’s work gets done: planned at consult, executed clean, walked through at the end.
Process
How a accent walls project actually runs.
actually runs.
- 01
Consult
Naron looks at the wall, the lighting in the room, and the species you're considering. Walnut, white oak, and rift-cut all read differently under warm vs. cool light — that conversation happens at consult.
- 02
Estimate
Material, install, electrical (if integrated lighting), and finish — itemized. Wood comes from suppliers Naron has worked with; you can spec it yourself if you have a source.
- 03
Build
Layout planned to keep symmetry around outlets, switches, and TV mounts. Boards run with hidden fasteners. Lighting wired before final paneling.
- 04
Walk-through
Naron checks every joint, every reveal, and every lighting line. Anything off — a tight reveal, a finish flaw — gets corrected before invoice.

Answers
Accent Walls — common questions.
ask Naron.
How much does an accent wall cost?
Depends on size, species, and whether lighting is integrated. A 10-foot walnut wall with floating shelves and lighting is a different number than a slatted oak wall in a hallway. Naron quotes by the project after walking the space.
Do you handle the lighting?
Yes. LED strip behind floating shelves, downlights set into the panel, or wall washers — wired into existing circuits or onto a new switch. Integrated lighting is the work that separates an accent wall from a panel-glued-to-drywall.
Can you match an existing stain?
Within reason — Naron will sample on a test piece before staining the wall. Exact matches on aged wood are tough; close matches with the right finish are doable.
Will it work over my existing drywall?
Usually yes — the wall has to be flat enough and the studs have to be locatable. Naron checks at consult.
