About this service

Tile is the work Naron is known for. Re-grouting that fixes the leak instead of hiding it. Large-format porcelain set on a properly prepped substrate. Showers waterproofed before a single tile goes up.

Tile is unforgiving. A floor that’s a hair off level shows up the day the furniture goes in. A shower that wasn’t waterproofed before tile shows up the first time someone takes a long shower. Naron has been doing this for over eight years. The substrate gets prepped. The waterproofing gets installed before the tile, not patched in after. The grout lines run straight because the layout was planned before the first cut.

Tile is also the work his customers call back about — re-grouting a master shower, fixing a leak under failing tile, installing a porcelain slab in a tight bathroom. The Thumbtack reviews under “Tile Repair” and “Tile Installation” all say versions of the same thing: precision, attention to detail, the work was done right.

Process

How a tile installation project actually runs.
actually runs.

  1. 01

    Consult

Naron looks at the substrate, the moisture path, and the layout. Tile is only as good as what's underneath it — that's where the conversation starts.

  2. 02

    Estimate

Clear scope: prep, waterproofing, tile, grout, sealing. Material allowances are itemized so the porcelain slab vs. a 12×24 ceramic is a visible decision.

  3. 03

    Build

Demo, prep, waterproof, set, grout, seal. Cuts are made on-site to fit the space. Layout is planned so the cut tile lands where you don't see it first.

  4. 04

    Walk-through

Naron walks the floor with you and runs the shower. Anything off — a lippage, a grout pinhole, a sealant skip — gets corrected before invoice.

Answers

Tile Installation — common questions.
ask Naron.

Can you just regrout, or do I need a full tear-out?

Often a regrout is what fixes the problem — and Naron will tell you straight when that's true. If the substrate is failing or the waterproofing is gone, no amount of grout fixes it. He'll show you what he's seeing before you commit to either.

Do you handle large-format porcelain slab?

Yes. Including 60×120 panels — the kind that need two people, mechanical lift, and careful prep. Recent project: a full bathroom remodel including three large porcelain slabs.

How do you waterproof a shower?

Naron uses purpose-built waterproofing systems — Schluter Kerdi, RedGard, or sheet membrane depending on the build. Pan, curb, and corners are sealed before tile, not patched after.

Will the grout match what I already have?

For repair and regrout work Naron color-matches against your existing grout. Bring a small sample if you have one; if not he'll match on-site.
